About Us
The Liberal Arts Centre offers both online and in-person programmes in core subjects across the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. We are guided by a simple conviction: an education grounded in philosophy, literature, politics, and other foundational liberal arts disciplines has a uniquely illuminating power.
Equally central to our approach is the belief that learning is fundamentally dialogic. Individuals learn far more from one another – through discussion, debate, and shared inquiry – than through passive engagement with texts or videos alone. For this reason, our classes are deliberately small, with enrolments capped at 18 participants, allowing for sustained conversation and serious intellectual engagement.
As artificial intelligence increasingly takes over repetitive and routine tasks, human judgment, interpretation, and creative problem-solving will become ever more valuable. Yet much of our current education system remains ill-equipped to cultivate these capacities. The Liberal Arts Centre is an attempt to respond to this gap by offering a genuinely humanistic education – one that is likely to be in growing demand in a technologically advanced society.
Our programmes are open to all adults, and most require no prior background in the subject. Whether you come from engineering, the social sciences, the natural sciences, or a professional field, you are welcome to study foundational liberal arts subjects with us. Our offerings are designed for anyone seeking not just additional credentials, but a more complete and reflective education.
The humanistic education we all truly need
The Liberal Arts Centre transforms online education by focusing on human judgment and discussion-driven courses in philosophy, literature, and politics. We emphasise thinking together over watching videos. Our courses are available free of cost to everyone.
